Punnya Kalapurakkel is recent graduate of Boston College, where she pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree in both Communications and Psychology. With digital marketing and social media management experience across the public media, data, construction, and university sectors, Punnya has cultivated a wide arrange of storytelling tools in niche industries. Her expertise primarily lies in PR writing, content creation, reporting, and graphic design.
Outside of her professional career, Punnya also has robust research experience, as she recently published her Bachelor’s Thesis on the use of culture as a commodity in fragrance advertising. Her thesis, “The Scent of Seductive Superiority: Unpacking the Use of Cultural Stereotypes in Fragrance Advertisements and the Promulgation of Colonial Ideology in Olfactive Expressions of the Other,” is a tribute to her love of fragrances. As both a scholar of brand marketing and a lover of niche and indie perfumery, the thesis was the perfect union of two interests close to her heart.
In her free time, she enjoys getting her nose on the next new fragrance, diving into an epic fantasy novel, dancing, or discovering new music.
